Because a dermal anchor sits under the skin rather than through it, the anchor plate itself usually titanium in industry-standard dermal fittings matters more for safety than the decorative top, which is why we’d always recommend having a dermal placed and fitted by a trained piercer rather than treated as a standard jewelry purchase.
Placement & Fit
Dermal jewelry doesn’t have a size range the way a stud or barbell does it’s fitted to the individual anchor at the time of piercing, and the top we sell threads onto that anchor afterward. That’s a different process from buying a stud off the shelf and putting it in yourself.
